It may still be sunny and 75 but the Holidays are upon us here on the beautiful Isle of Palms! When you want to take a break from relaxing on the beach, there are many fun holiday events going on around the Charleston area during the month of November! We can’t wait for your family to make priceless memories soaking in the wonder of the Holiday season here in Charleston!
Wild Dunes Holiday Events:
Harvest Festival – November 27th 5:00 = 7:00 pm
Tickets required for this family friendly event. Holiday themed foods, petting zoo, carnival games, kid’s bounce house. Located at the Palmetto Hall and Swim Center 5757 Palm Blvd Isle of Palms SC 29451

Turkey Trot 5K – November 27th 9:00 am
Free event and family friendly. Located on the beach in front of the Grand Pavilion. Coffee/Hot Chocolate and light bites are provided after the race.
Thanksgiving Golf Cart Parade – November 28th 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Free family friendly event to attend. Parade starts in front of the Wild Dunes Swim Center and laps around the resort core. The parade begins with the IOP Fire Department and concludes with the big man himself, Santa!
Holiday Festival – November 29th 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Ticketed family friendly event. Holiday themed menu including an oyster roast and Christmas treats. There will be a gingerbread house decorating area, ornament decorating, letters to Santa, and the main event – the lighting of the Christmas tree by Santa at sundown! Located at the Osprey Terrace and Ballroom at the Sweetgrass Inn 5757 Palm Blvd Isle of Palms SC 29451.

Mount Pleasant Holiday Events
Lights Up – Holiday Spirit and Tree Lighting in Town Center – November 23rd 6:00 – 8:00
Activities begin at 6 pm. Tree lighting at 7:30 pm.
Family friendly event that is free to the public. Food and craft vendors, live performances including the East Cooper Baptist Church Choir and Orchestra and 40 Years Too Late, face painting, drawings every hour for giveaways, special appearance by Santa Claus, and the event concludes with a laser light show and the lighting of the 44 foot Town Center Christmas Tree!
Christmas Tree Festival at Boone Hall Plantation – November 23rd - 24th 10:00 – 8:00
Free event that is fun for the whole family. Kid games and attractions, holiday crafts and decorations, photo booths, live music, holiday treats and concessions, and visits with Santa! All activities are free. Optional purchases are face painting and concessions. They will also be selling their fresh cut Christmas trees, wreaths, and other decorations!

James Island Holiday Events
James Island Country Park Holiday Festival of Lights – Every night November 15th – December 31st5:30 – 10 pm
Charleston’s largest holiday light show! Ticket purchase is required for this event and price is by carload; price varies depending on the night. This family friendly event begins with a self guided driving tour through the county park as it is decked out in thousands of Christmas lights and displays! You may drive around the park loop as many times as you like. There are multiple parking lots located through out the park to park and enjoy the rest of the Festival of Lights experience! There are more lights and displays to walk through on your way to Santa’s Village! Children of all ages will enjoy the carousel, climbing wall, visits with Santa, and Christmas Train Ride. The entire family will enjoy the annual giant sand sculpture that changes every year, the giant holiday greeting cards that are created by the local schools, multiple holiday shops, and holiday treats and concessions including smores by one of the many giant fire pits!

Downtown Charleston Holiday Events
47th Annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble 5k – November 28th 7:00 am – 11:00 am. Race begins at 9:00 am.
This annual race has become an iconic Charleston tradition! Family of all ages are encouraged in the 5K walk and run. The race begins and ends on either end of Marion Square. The square itself will be set up with food and drink vendors and live music for a post race celebration! Registration purchase is required for this 5K.

Aquarium Aglow at the South Carolina Aquarium – November 21st – December 30th
5:30 – 9:00 pm
This is a ticketed event fun for the whole family! The South Carolina Aquarium will light up during this special nightly event. Experience the aquarium at night underneath dazzling Christmas lights with festive photo ops and festive refreshments for purchase.

Christmas Decorations at The Charleston Place – November 29th – December 31st
The Charleston Place outdoes itself every year with its beautiful Christmas decorations! From the massive Christmas tree in the courtyard, to the larger than life train exhibit in the gorgeous lobby, the magic of the holidays can be found here! This is a perfect free family friendly stop while you are walking around Historic Downtown Charleston.

We are so excited to have your family gathered with us to celebrate Thanksgiving! Nothing beats having family and friends around the table sharing wonderful memories and delicious food!
